STRESS/ANXIETY/RELAXATION

Heather Bestell has built an excellent reputation for her work in stress management and relaxation. There is a great deal of academic research which supports the use of relaxation in boosting the immune system and improving performance. We recommend Heather’s CD (and in fact we supply it to many of our clients). The CD can be purchased through Heather’s website. A Little Bit of Time

This book has been recommended by Jenny whose partner found it invaluable in helping to deal with panic attacks – ‘Self Help for Your Nerves: Learn to Relax and Enjoy Life Again By Overcoming Stress and Fear’ by Claire Weekes.

GENERAL BOOKS

Here is a list of books I recommend to trainers working with women, but some of them are fantastic self-help books. You do have to take action to make a difference though, just reading the book will not change your life!! Anita

Bowes, M. (2006) Me + You = 100 ways to work out a formula for success.

Demaris, A. and White, V. (2004). First Impressions – What You Don’t Know About How Others See You. London: Hodder and Stoughton

Matthews, A. (1990) Being Happy (Great book with fun cartoons). I love this book it’s just common sense, but if you follow it, it will make a difference.

Michelli, D. (1998) Successful Assertiveness in a Week ( Easy to read )

Neenan, M. and Dryden, W. (2002). Life Coaching – A Cognitive- Behavioural Approach. Hove: Brunner-Routledge. If you were to follow this book and do as it suggests, you will be on the road to the life you want.

O’Connor, J. (2001). NLP Workbook. London: Element.

O’Connor J. & Seymour, J. (1990) Introducing NLP – Psychological skills for understanding and influencing people. San Francisco: The Aquarian Press

Sanders, P. (2002) First Steps in Counselling
